If you are planning to include tradeshows in your marketing mix this year, we’ve got a few tips to help you make your tradeshow booth and materials rise above the pack.
When it comes to tradeshows, you want to stand out. Simply due to the nature of many tradeshow venues & set ups, it’s easy to get lost in the mass of exhibitors. You need to be unique in some way — you want to stand out!
Now, keep in mind that creating a creative booth that really ‘WOW’S’ can be expensive. Many tradeshow booths take hundreds of man hours to create! But, just because you don’t have an unlimited budget, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have a creative tradeshow booth that stands out too. Here are a few ideas to maximize your tradeshow experience no matter your budget:
- Be Visual. Concentrate on telling a story rather than giving a pitch. Attract people to your booth with professionally designed displays that utilize color, images, and typography in a simple, but effective layout. Don’t try to cram too much information into your displays, but rather go for the “big picture.”
- Be Personal. Make your booth friendly and inviting. Don’t frighten people by being too aggressive or over-pushing the sales pitch. Engage people with contests, games, or give-aways.
- Be Prepared. Don’t wait until the last minute to create or assemble your tradeshow booth display, graphics, hand outs, and other materials and information. Allow plenty of time to create the most effective tradeshow display possible! Last minute rushing can result in errors and sub-par quality.
- Be Different. If you know what other vendors are doing for their booths, try to do something different. Remember, the idea is that you want to stand out and be unique. If your booth is next to a huge, complex booth or display, you might want to go with something simple and more personally inviting. If you are handing out promotional “give-aways”, try to be unique with those too. Rather than giving out the standard ink pen, go with something that users will truly enjoy and/or need in today’s world like a promotional USB car charger, touch screen cleaning cloths, tablet stylus, keychain flashlights, etc.
